It was the start of a great journey, at least that's what everyone tells her and what Aria was cooing about next to her, the Taillow on her shoulder was hopping and enjoying the fresh air. She flapped her wings and jumped off, gliding around and into the air. Annie watched with a slight smile, she was sort of happy she had a Pokemon that could fly though she felt a little jealous, how amazing would it be if she could have wings like that? Then she'd definitely be noticed, a girl who could fly, who could ignore her then. She laughed a little at the thought, what a wonderful thought. She lifted a hand and pulled on the hair in her ponytail, glancing up at her Taillow and whistling softly, getting the Pokemon's attention who flew back down and landed obediently on her shoulder. Annie wasn't sure where she was going right now, she didn't know where this land would lead her, didn't know how to react. She felt like this place was once a beautiful area, the ashes covered the trees still but the sun was out so it must have been a while since this volcano had erupted. Annie sighed and kicked small areas of ash, it was autumn right? The heat was still here, from the sun, the season, and also probably from the leftover ash in the sky.
"Une telle honte"
She murmured, her native language coming out because sometimes it was hard to change into a different one. But even if this place wasn't as pretty as Kalos was, it was better than Kalos by a landslide. No one was here, this meant that she has a whole new place to make herself known, she hated fading into the background, hating being just another face in the crowd because she didn't feel like that. She felt like more and she would be more if it killed her and she walked with more determination in her steps. Each stride long, powerful, determined and confident, head held high because there was no other way for her to walk but like this. She was a girl with a mission, a girl who had a reason to live as long as she could become something more and since she was starting off in a land that was starting off fresh as well then that meant this was her fresh start as well. In Kalos she was dirty, a nobody, a girl on the street who took up money and time and made the city ugly. She was ugly there, she was different here. There was a big difference between the two, here she just looked different, she wasn't ugly though, she wasn't dirty and nasty and a waste of space, she was a person, a trainer, someone who was starting and was prepared to go somewhere with her life. Being ugly in Kalos was like a death sentence, meaning her life was shackled in the streets, that people wouldn't help her if she was dead and dying on the ground. Amazing how two places had such different opinions.
Annie shook her head, clearing out these nasty and horrible thoughts, no she couldn't bother herself with that stuff, not at all. She bounced a little, a skip in her step because she's off to live her life, to get it started, and no one better hold her back or else Annie here will grab you by your head and drag your face into the dusty ash on the ground, just so you know better. She's not a girl that will ever, ever not take herself seriously and literally if anyone tries to hinder her she won't hesitate to fight you, and because she just got her wonderful little Pokemon and has never owned one before that means that her fighting will actually mean she will punch you and for a little girl of fourteen she throws some seriously hard punches. What? A girls gotta know how to defend herself, especially a girl all alone in the world, for now.
NOTES:The start of a wonderfully horrible journey, full of twists and turns, love and heartbreak, and an asshole brat who will become her best friend and worst enemy! PARTY! TAGGED:Espurr
HATE THE RICH, HATE THE HAPPY, HATE THE COMPLACENT. TV WATCHERS, BEER DRINKERS, THE SATISFIED ONES. BECAUSE I KNOW I CAN BE ALL THOSE LITTLE HATEFUL THINGS AND THEN I HATE MYSELF FOR REALIZING THAT. BE SAFE, BE SAFE.
The day had gone off rather uneventfully. Well, no, there were some things but Asher wasn't in the mood to recount them. He had started off his journey with only some traces of ash and dirt but after the day's shenanigans, he now found himself picking leaves out of his hair. Small sticks and leaves were tangled in his brown locks, sticking out at random places and making him look disheveled. His arms and legs were also covered in bruises and scratches. Luckily, he hadn't gotten anything alarming--merely a few little scrapes here and there--though he did find himself having to deal with a few minor burns. Reyna was much friskier than he had first assumed. If she didn't find his orders or battling style suitable, she'd retaliate. He had long since learned not to practice his usual corporal punishment-esque methods.
It was time to rest. Sure, the day was still bright and ready for the taking, but he honestly needed to lessen his pace. Opponents had been scarce during the first few hours so he had to test out Reyna's abilities with less traditional methods. Nothing risky, just laps and testing out her attacks (some of which had been on himself). He found that the Ponyta didn't have any problems undergoing harsh training as long as he didn't act without tact or without some form of recompense. If she found that his methods were effective, she had no trouble pushing herself to the limit. That was good. She was brave. She wouldn't have any trouble becoming stronger. What he did worry though, was whether he would be able to match her growth.
Asher untangled one more pesky little branch from his bangs. He paused, the realization hitting him. What if he couldn't? What if he wasn't able to follow his own pokemon's development? What if he became some lousy, useless, piece of... He snapped out of his thoughts. Someone was approaching. He instinctively drew himself closer to the tree he had been sitting at, pushing his back against the tree bark as he tried to lose himself in the shade. The footsteps were getting closer.
Oh, it was just another kid. Asher relaxed, allowing his body to slump against the tree. He did, however, catch said person saying something. He wasn't that far off from the girl. From the sound of it, the statement had been in the native language of Kalos. He raised a brow, fairly surprised that he had met someone from the same region this early. And from the sounds of it, this chick was some sympathizer with how she acted ~so~ sad about this wrecked terrain. Please.
He chucked the small piece of branch at the girl's knees. "Arrêter morfondre, tree hugger," he muttered. He turned his head away from the girl, looking towards the nearby grass. Reyna would be back from her laps soon. He trusted the Ponyta wouldn't let herself get distracted.
There is so much potential in such a young body, a girl with so much that she could turn into if given the chance. An empty slate that had wiped the bad experiences in her young life clean and now she was here and she was starting out well, too bad as an empty slate she could easily be influenced by others around her and one of the first people she's going to be meeting may be a boy that will leave a very nasty impression on a very impressionable little girl. Annie, of course, did not feel as if she was naive or impressionable, she didn't even feel like she was a little girl, as she towered over many her age and was taller than an average fourteen year old at five foot six so of course she wouldn't see herself as someone who could be morphed and changed by everyone around her as though she was play dough. It was an important aspect of children to be easily changed by those around them and usually when you were babies you would already be influenced but Annie here did not have a normal childhood and so her childhood starts now, and though she is in some way more mature she is much more brash and cruel than many would be her age. She picked on others and poked fun at their appearance though hers was no better and in fact worse but of course Annie liked the way she looked, the rugged, tough, only business type of girl she was trying to be. She was going to be famous, so of course she needed to act professional!
There was only so far professionalism could take someone though, especially when she was just being herself, just walking and minding her own business, enjoying the walk through this wasteland of a route when some little punk felt like it was an okay thing to comment! And in her own native language too! Annie froze for a moment, eyes narrowed ahead of her and she had half a mind to keep walking but that would be the mature thing to do in this situation and Annie, oh she was definitely the very opposite of mature. So instead her head turned towards the boy, her messy pony tail hitting the side of her neck with the speed her head had turned and she stared him down right in his eyes and pivoted her body towards him, walked a little closer and very promptly kicked him in the shin. A very polite smile was on her face and she even managed a giggle through her not so inner rage, the force of the kick even making her Taillow flinch just a bit from her perch on Annie's shoulder because it seemed as though that would be painful for sure. And a simple saying came out of her mouth to match the anger she so clearly felt, though her tone was rather uplifting and happy in a way as she simply told him nicely-
"manger de la merde et mourir, Beansprout"
Which you can imagine is not the nicest thing someone could say and then Annie backed away with a content sigh, as if she was proud of herself which she definitely was, like one hundred percent she had no regrets of acting in that manner towards this boy, this little teensy boy who she had to look down on in order to look him in the eye. Aria stared at her trainer, suddenly thinking that this little girl wasn't as nice as she let on to be, of course that wouldn't make the little flying type like her trainer any less, no she was happy with her trainer it just meant that they both had some work to do in order to improve each other and hopefully stay away from this kid, this kid didn't seem to bring out the best in Annie at all right now.
