Although she was eager for her new start, she planned to enjoy her journey. One might say she was killing time, but she didn't mind it.
Pulling herself onto the tree branch, she glanced down to her pokemon and smiled. "Just stick here Seraphinite! I'll be down in a second !" She crowed, waving down to the snover who waved back just as easily. Although she had only gotten him a day ago, they seemed to get along rather swimmingly. She adjust quickly to his silent persona. Although he didn't speak vocally, he was rather emotional in his waving hands and facial expressions. She didn't know a lot of sign language, but she was willing to learn and had already taught him a few words - ones she had memorized or thought interesting. He was already a big brother to their newest companion - a tiny little egg. She thought it was a dragon perhaps, judging by the scaly touch of it's egg.
She didn't recognize the type of tree, perhaps an oak or maple. Having lived in Dewford, the tiny town by the sea - the only trees she had ever gotten to know where the pine trees across the coast. Their bark was rough and weather-worn and the sap would leak onto her hands and she would get the needles in her hair and clothing.
These trees were softer, probably never knowing a storm in their lifetime and the leaves only flutter by her intrusion. She climbed it like she was a mankey, swinging and grappling like she had a third hand. Finally, she poked her head above the leaves. She was high above the tree-line, seeing more and more trees and the spiraling pathway through the trees. Briefly, she could see the next town, a small place judging from the amount of houses.
Beneath the tree, the dual type pokemon cuddled closer to the egg, blinking it's tiny eyes in patience.

Asher trudged about the dirt path, his sandals kicking at the earth with each swing and step. In his arms was a single egg; he had gotten it recently from some weird stranger. It was basic knowledge not to accept anything from strangers, especially from the odd vagrant, but he couldn't help himself. It was a free egg! An egg that could possibly hatch into an impressive pokemon. Even if it didn't he could simply shove it inside his PC and never have to face it ever again, or trade it off to some other trainer. It was still a win-win if he did it right. He just hoped that creepy guy wouldn't try to follow him or anything. He'd have to order Reyna to fry a man. He doubted she would, though.
Now it was time to settle the matters at hand. Even if he had to care for this egg, he still had to make sure Reyna got stronger. He needed to first test her limits. Luckily, the Ponyta wasn't a newborn, meaning that she would be able to function normally without any added maintenance. Her hooves were strong, no doubt close to the said 'diamond-like' strength that the Pokedex kept babbling on about. Those would be vital for physical battling.
But he needed something to have her fight. A suitable opponent. He had wandered about the route for a while now, with no luck for his search. Where were all the wild pokemon? Did they up and migrated somewhere? Impossible. There should at least be a few pokemon scurrying about and looking for food. It wasn't close to night, either. Prey would still be out and about, ready for the taking, which left no excuse for the wild pokemon to stay cooped up in their homes.
"Tch, great..." He was getting frustrated. If this kept up, he would have to head to the Pokemon Center and stay the night without any progress. If there was anything he considered more embarrassing, it was showing up to a Center without any wounds in need of healing. It was his obligation as a trainer to undertake harsh training. If he had no battle scars, then what gives him the right to enter such an establishment?
As he was contemplating this, the boy had gone off the path towards the nearby trees. He'd keep searching even if it meant he'd have to enter territory himself. He held the egg closer, now more aware of possible predators that could snatch up the egg.
The trees above rustled.
He immediately looked up, spotting a figure hiding among the tree branches. Was it a pokemon? He drew closer to take a look. He didn't get far when he decided to stop. The tree the figure was hiding in had something else guarding it. A creature that looked like it had a snowy mountain for a head. Definitely a pokemon. It seemed to be curling around an egg.
Asher debated silently for a while. From the looks of it, this pokemon was an ice type, which was nigh impossible to encounter in this sort of habitat. It also had an egg, another impossible occurrence seeing as this was not a suitable environment for ice types to mate. There was also the figure in the tree.
Looks like he found himself a trainer. How lucky.
"Hey, you up there!" He called out. "Quit acting like a Mankey and get down here for a sec!"

She stayed on the branches for awhile longer until she heard a voice from below. Surely it wasn't Seraphinite who was stone cold silent. A friend! An ally!
Like a pro, perhaps more similar to a wild beast - she swung down from the branches. Just at the second branch before the ground, she swung backwards, hands grappling and knees taking the place to hold her weight. She was hanging upside down, blonde hair falling down and showering leaves and grass blades (not that she ever remembered rolling around in glass).
Bright blue eyes sparked and she smlied, although from the stranger's look she might look she was frowning. "You rang?" She drawled, swinging slightly and hardly even worried that she might break her neck. She brightened at the egg in his arms and smiled again, even wider. "Oh what an egg! What type is it? Do you know?" She asked, voice bubbly and bright.
She glanced at Seraphinite who waved his little hands eagerly and she reached her hands down to shake his - to assure her new partner that she was quite alright. That being done, he wandered back over to the egg and stroked it once. Although she didn't see the harm in letting the snover carry the little egg, Olivier didn't know much about egg-raising. The egg didn't seem to mind, and every now and then would warm underneath both of their touches.

Asher watched as the shadow from above began its swift descent. He had to admit, this person could move, then again he supposed most trainers had to learn how to maneuver the field quickly. He took a half step back when the figure swung down to the final branch, now hanging precariously upside down and swinging about as though the tree had become a jungle gym at the local park. The strands of blonde hair, small branches, and tree leaves rained down mercilessly on him, peppering his brown locks and clothes with nature's little irritations. He huffed indignantly, brushing them off from the top of his head. He had expected his earlier comment to be merely a metaphor; he hadn't expected having to deal with an actual ape-human. His unimpressed half-lidded stare gazed down the inverted stranger.
She looked like a stereotypical Kalos girl with her blonde hair and blue eyes--except stereotypical Kalos girls wouldn't dare to look as unruly as she did at that moment. Little scratches, imperfections, and twigs and leaves and Arceus knows what else. He was confident that a beautician would have a heart attack if ever this girl was presented, before undergoing an obsessive and overly-thorough process of trying to salvage whatever was left from the catastrophe. That was an exaggeration, of course, but still. This chick needed to get cleaned up.
He narrowed his eyes upon seeing her continue to swing on the branch. "Do you want to snap that neck of yours?" He asked, though his voice held no concern. When the girl questioned the egg in his arms, he took a few seconds to hesitate. "Dragon, I think. Not sure if I can trust whatever that creepy guy tells me, but an egg is an egg." The egg in his arms felt rough, like it was covered in scales, yet at the same time too light to assume that a reptilian baby was inside it.
"Moving on, I--" he was promptly cut off when the girl reached down to shake the Snover's arms. It then returned to its previous position beside the egg. He raised a brow, "Did you train that thing to care for eggs? It'd be a lot more efficient if you used a fire type."
Wait, back to the point of this. "I called you down for a battle. You up for it, wild girl?"
