Hello/How Are You

"Okay." First steps. Gerik's pace was steady, firm, but it was pretty easy to tell that his anxiety was as dominant as his excitement at the moment. He had no idea what was waiting for him, how he should approach it, or what kinda Pokemon he will meet. He had been to the Hoenn region before, yes. But now and then are two different times; back then, the only thing on the redhead's mind was getting his younger sister back home. Currently, he's out on his own, with no excuses given for his motives. A deep breath was taken before the redhead opened the door to the lab, steeling himself for the very first step in his journey, a black glove still firmly holding the door handle.

"Hey!" He called in cheerfully with a smile, closing the green door behind him as he took in the scenery momentarily. A brightly polished, white-tiles floor, pretty classy. Assistants here and there, desks with scrabbled papers and the like, and a few devices; with some he's familiar, with the majority of them not. Impressive. He raised a brow and let out a silent whistle to show his impression of the lab. He's never really been there before, despite starting his Pokemon journey already. Back on the subject rather quickly, the young man called out to whoever was in charge. Beating around the bush wouldn't get him anywhere, even if once in a while, stopping to take a look at what's around you for no particular reason is quite fun. "I'm looking for someone to help me with a Pokemon?"

[Haunter]

He appears almost out of nowhere, this scientist. The lab looks much better from it's once disorganized interior. When one of the temps had alerted him of the piling papers he had quickly acted. That being said, even with it's pristine floors, there was still the odd tower of stacked papers and books. He gives a slight chuckle, taking a pokeball that is stacked haphazardly and stuffs it into his lab pocket.


"I can assist you. Right this way!" He gives another chuckle, this must be a rather light-hearted fellow. He waves the fellow to the near back of the lab where the stacks of paper disappear and a lab assistant is seen testing the temperature of a chimecho. There are filing cabinets and cases and the scientist leans down to grab one. He places it on the stainless steel table. He gives another chuckle and the case clicks open revealing the pokeballs. 


"Seems like your choices today are Budew, Chimchar and Minun. You can pick now or you can open them up, see what personalities best click with your own." He gives another laugh and adjusts the glasses on his nose.

Gerik simply followed the attendant without asking questions. However, he did find it odd that the guy simply appeared out of nowhere. Almost like he was a master of the arts of stealth... Or really because he looked so ordinary that his form was basically swallowed in the background, with all the prominent-looking characters. However, the redhead wasn't about to go picking on the person for something as minor as that, I assure you. Besides, he was going to hand him his first Pokemon (this time around)!

The youth inspected the three options given to him carefully, staring at them with a hand holding his chin as he wondered. The strengths and weaknesses of each one, the characteristics he was familiar with, their species' general habitat and instinct. There was an incredible amount of parameters to take into account, of which Gerik was only partially aware. But every Pokemon trainer, or at least a veteran, can tell; every Pokemon has its uses. They're all unique.

Gerik smirked. "No, there will be no need to open whatever up. I've already got my choice." He said, then turned to the scientist, his mind steeled. After this choice, there was no turning back. "If I may, can I take Chimchar?

Personality: A little fire ball this one is, he tries his best at everything he does and is usually pretty good at it. His favorite pass time is climbing and fighting, he loves to train and can't stand being lazy so will usually be running around and doing everything he can just not to get bored! He likes to test his fires on things around him and sometimes that does involve his own trainer so hopefully you'll get used to a bit of burns! He greets new challenges with his headstrong attitude and believes he can't be beaten so you'll be in for an earful if he's brought out of a battle early! Hopefully with training he'll calm down, but who knows, it seems like a long shot right now.
